Occupying the almost 200-year-old historic building that was Singapore’s first Parliament House, The Arts House has since its opening in 2004 been offering its visitors a broad spectrum of arts and culture programmes and lifestyle events, as well as playing an active role in the local arts and creative scene. It is a multidisciplinary arts centre that is all encompassing and continuously relevant to the needs of the communities of Singapore. Since 2011, The Arts House has focused on the development and promotion of literary arts. It aims to boost the appreciation of local literature and writing in the four official languages, as well as encourage new writing and creation of content through an interdisciplinary approach.
